dc.description.abstract	The article considers the issues of real phenomena categorization in the human consciousness of Russian Middle Ages. The appeal to the origins of the Slavic language culture allows to restore an individual perception of that era associated with its national traditions, cultural values and the level of accumulated knowledge. To do this the words with the root "mir" are analyzed. These are the words involved in the conceptualization of a medieval man perception concerning the surrounding area. In order to solve the intended issues a number of research methods is used, the main of which is semantic-cognitive one, allowing to describe a linguistic transformation of the human mental activity results, to determine the relationship of semantic and cognitive processes.	ru_RU
