Using theoretical models MA Lavrent'ev we found that the interaction of galactic comets with planets can occur by two different physical mechanisms. According to the first mechanism, the main part of kinetic energy and momentum of the comet is spent on the creation of the crater by diameter in many kilometers. In the second mechanism the energy and momentum of comets are transferred to the narrowly focused shock wave that penetrates deep into the lithosphere, expending energy on evaporation, melting and heating the rocks. On the example of the Earth, Mars, Mercury and the Moon it is shown that galactic comets interact with planets with the participation of both mechanisms. Ceteris paribus the thermal effect increases with the density of the planet's atmosphere. |
