Irrational use of medicines and baseless polypragmasy increase the
amount of pharmaceutical waste and risk of pollution. According to
WHO experts, public education, explanation the severity of the problem,
propaganda of responsible use and disposal of medicines are the effective
measures to minimize environmental pollution [1].
From 2019 to 2021 we have conducted a questionnaire survey on Google,
where we have assessed the attitude of population to the problem of
rational use of medications, proper disposal of medications and the desire
of medicine consumers to give unused / expired medications in special
collection points. In the first survey 287 respondents took part, in the
second - 159. Surveys have shown that most of drug users take medica
tions for medicinal purposes (93,1%). The aim of medications disposal
for 88% of respondents is the expired drug shelf life.
