The authors investigate the importance of identity formation of university students through foreign language learning. The research emphasizes person?s qualities as the criterion for evaluating the level of identity development. Personality-molding, culture- and activity- oriented principles are presented in this paper.
The combination of theoretical and empirical methods was used for the research (observation, questionnaire survey, interviewing, and analysis of the best pedagogical practices).
The development of foreign language teaching and learning materials alongside with the use of active methods of teaching plays a significant role in the process of students? upbringing. Among the conditions stipulating efficient identity formation the authors focus on: the integration of students? research projects and learning process; scientific approach and independence; the choice of teaching materials content and ways of its utilizing; personal contribution of parties involved in pedagogi |
