Аннотация The article raises the problem of Spanish lacunar units' adequate translation into the Russian and the English languages, describes the theoretical aspects of this problem, sets numerous examples of lexical gaps usage and various ways of their translation. The relevance of this work is determined by the prevalence of the phenomenon considered in terms of countries convergence with unique objects and phenomena. The absences of certain linguistic units' direct equivalents in the vocabulary of a language do not mean their impossibility to be translated into the other ones. A translator can use a huge variety of techniques and tools that make it possible to transfer the value of the initial word in a given text [1]. Filling the lexical gaps is the process of certain concepts (words) meaning disclosure belonging to a foreign culture. There are several ways of elimination (filling) of lacunar vocabulary.
