| Аннотация |
This article briefly reviews the policy of Christianization of the Volga-Kama region and provides a brief historical background of Tatars' Christianization. It characterizes the educational program for the ethnic minorities by N. I. Ilminsky, causes of its emergence, and activities of the Translation Committee. Study of translated monuments gives us a wealth of material about spoken Tatar language in the second half of the XIX century. Translations phonetically correspond well with modern Tatar dialects, but some ancient dialectal relationships are also traced |
