The authors present the history of the Limerick idea of the learning cities and the results of the world project “Learning region – learning city – learning community”, offer to consider a diversity of ideas in the experience of individual regions and cities. The article defines the concept of benchmarking, discusses the features of the use of benchmarking technologies in the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). The role and opportunities of non-formal and informal education in the implementation of the world project are revealed on specific examples. The main discussion of the article is conducted around the following questions. Are benchmarking technologies applicable to the analysis of project effectiveness in different regions of the world? How benchmarking tools can be used in the assessment of individual educational indicators of the learning community in a particular city or region? The authors analyze the possibilities of benchmarking research through the experience of the Austrian, Chinese, French, Canadian phenomenon of sustainable development. |
