Annotation

The article demonstrates research results of musical education development in Kazan during the 20s of the last century when a "new economic policy" (NEP) was declared in Russia with the aim of leveling consequences of using the "military communism" tactics during the Civil War. During this period Kazan Musical School named after R. A. Gummert was founded, the activities results of which are reflected in the materials of the article.
