    Annotation The relevance of the subject lies in that the problem of intercultural dialogue and communicative interaction between the state and religious organizations in the field of education in a multi-confessional and multi-ethnic country is on the agenda and needs to be addressed. Objective of this paper is to analyze the state-confessional relations in the education sphere of the Republic of Tatarstan associated with the religious revival at the turn of XX-XXI centuries. The main method of studying this problem is the comparative-historical method. The paper presents the results showing that the work done by the authorities and civil society organizations, both in Russia and in the Republic of Tatarstan, on the facilitation of a dialogue in the field of secular and religious education between people of different confessions generally gave a positive result. Materials of this paper may be useful in the current public debates on the problems of development of Russian society.
