    Annotation The article is devoted to the study of application peculiarities in Old Tatar language. The authors examined the functions of appeals in the artistic literature using the example of Old-Tatar writing poetry. The purpose of the work is to examine the structure of appeal in Old Tatar language texts as the reflection of poetic language and author idiostyle specifity. The authors showed the grammatical features of appeals in Old Tatar language for the first time. Depending on a speech recipient the appeals are divided into three main groups: the appeals to people, the appeals to animate beings and the appeals to inanimate objects. An appeal was considered from the communicative point of view, its structure, functions and semantic significance were in the focus of attention. The means, used in appeals, their lexical-semantic and stylistic characteristics, the role in the organization of a text and the determination of the functions performed by them are considered in diachronic aspect.
