Annotation

Relevance of the studied problem is caused by keen interest of scientists in history of the classical period Athens. The purpose of the article consists in research of the orators appeal to the matter draft evasion of citizens, and also the service evasion reasons. The leading method of this research is the comparative-historical method allowing to consider draft evasion cases during the classical period and the circumstances accompanying those on the basis of the a number of orator speeches analysis. The main results of research consist in classification of draft evasion cases in two catego-ries: draft evasion in general and service evasion while on service. The first type of evasion means draft evasion and military campaign participation evasion The second type represents evasion of performing duties by person already in service, refusing to perform direct duties during military campaign in hope to avoid the accompanying dangers (death in fight, wounds, captivity).
