Annotation |
A society is the unity of civilization and culture. In the context of globalization, the impact of national cultures is eliminated. The civilization with the ideology of postmodernism tries to take over the functions of culture, offering the cult of consumption to the mankind. The education as a social institution belongs to civilization, but its content is intended to carry out the functions of transmitting the cultural values from generation to generation of people. When the values of civilization dominate in the society the human personality suffers. The human personality being a real and significant value begins to turn into a formality. Nonlinearity of civilization forces the human to learn throughout life, what is not possible to implement without training and self-education. Modern education, which implements the principle of rationality based on the ideology of science is not able to give a person a sense of his being. To do this, it is necessary to return metaphysics to the science. Neither the cult of money, nor a religion, or politics, but metaphysics is capable through education to give a person a new sense of his being in the world - self-understanding as a unit of humanity, responsible not only for the present situation on the planet, but also for its future. |
