SEDIMENTARY ENVIRONMENTS AND DEPOSITIONAL MODELS OF UPPER TRIASSIC RESERVOIR IN THE SYRIAN EUPHRATES GRABEN

  • Bibliographic description in the original language The work reported in this paper includes data set, provided by Al-Furat petroleum company (Damascus, Syria). Sample coverage extended over the whole area of the Euphrates Graben. In order to map out the depositional models and facies distribution across the whole Graben area, a systematic sedimentological core analysis of MUF reservoir intervals had been described using a standard and uniform facies scheme. In addition a total of 55 samples were examined with Scanning electron microscope SEM, X-ray diffraction (XRD), following to this, the core description used with all the other available and collected data as a guide to generate standard facies catalog and build a facies depositional models for each MUF formation subdivisions.
