Mulussa F Formation (Upper Triassic) is one of the important geological formations constituting the Mulussa group in Syria. Petrology Study provided a precise petrological description of various formation members and their Diagenetic. And show that the members of the formation are composed of continental detrital sediments made up of Claystones (Kaolinite / Illite) and shale / Dolomitic claystone, cute by intervals of Quartz sandstones, clay sandstones and silty sandstones. This sediment of those members spread out as repeated or harmonic alternations whose Facies gradients reflect transgression and regression sequences. The correlation of these sediments led to show their differences with time and place. And represent narrow barriers near river mouth with meandering channels and limited coastal deposits, locally floating and laterally thinning. |
