Glassy carbon electrode modified with multi-walled carbon nanotubes and electropolymerized gallic acid (poly(gallic acid)/MWNT/GCE) has been fabricated using potentiodynamic electropolymerization. Electropolymerization parameters (the monomer concentration, supporting electrolyte pH, potential scan rate and range, the number of cycles) for the modified electrode have been evaluated using quercetin as a standard. Scanning electron microscopy, cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy have been applied for the electrode characterization. The poly(gallic acid)/MWNT/GCE has been applied for the selective quantification of quercetin and capsaicinoids (capsaicin, dihydrocapsaicin and nonivamide). The methods developed have been successfully applied for the extracts of medicinal herbs and Capsicum annuum L. tinctures. |
