    Annotation The article is devoted to linguistic peculiarities in English political discourse, taking as an example the inauguration speech of Donald Trump. The research on various aspects of political language has recently become increasingly important. Of particular interest is the usage of expressive and vivid language tools in speeches of political figures, in newspaper articles and magazines of a political nature. Nowadays the theme of this study is especially relevant, as there is a growing interest in political discourse and political vocabulary in particular. The purpose of the study is to examine and analyze linguistic peculiarities in English political discourse. The tasks are as follows: to define and clarify the concept “political discourse”; to consider the main features of political discourse related to vocabulary and grammar; to study how the features are connected with political discourse on the material of political speech.
