Annotation

The definite form universities in Japan ought to take in dealing with the realities of the XXI century is the subject of immense interest; the new form should be designed by the desire to be contemporary, forward-thinking and society-relevant. Universities of the XXI century must be prepared and able to deal effectively with three basic outlooks confronting them: coping with new conditions and challenges; quality assurance and assessment mechanisms; implementation and contribution to national economic development.
