The paper discusses the contradiction between the enormous multicultural potential of art and reluctance of professional linguistic education system to implement it in professional linguistic education. The paper explores the multicultural potential of art to solve this problem in line with the cross-disciplinary integration of Linguistics and Culture-Study disciplines in learning and research activities.
The authors have developed, theoretically substantiated and experimentally verified the conditions for the effective realization of the multicultural potential of art in the process of professional training of a linguist. As the result of the study, it was found out that in the process of familiarizing with the culture of another people represented in works of art, there is a deeper assimilation of cultural norms, a conscious understanding of similarities and differences of cultures, reflected in artistic images, as well as values, traditions, customs, moral norms, people's mentality.
