The energy levels and wave functions of Fe2+ (5D) ions in
Fe2Mo3O8 have been calculated using crystal field theory. The interaction
parameters of copper 3d-electrons with the electrical field are evaluated
using experimental data about absorption coefficients. The origin of the
magnetoelectic coupling is also discussed. |
