ADSORPTION DYNAMIC OF MIXTURE OF ANIONIC SURFACTANTS ON SANDSTONE/CARBONATE ROCK / VII Mezhdunarodnoy molodezhnoy nauchnoy konferenci Tatarstan UpExPro 2023 |
Annotation |
Enhanced oil recovery (EOR) by surfactant has been successful because it maximizes oil recovery by using several different mechanisms, surfactant impacts the interface between oil and water and reduces interfacial tension (IFT) between the molecules allowing to immobilize the oil and move it to the production well. Also, surfactants work on impacting the rock surface altering the wettability from oil wet rock to water wet, therefore moving the oil out of the porous medium which is related to surfactant adsorption. There are still problems with surfactant flooding, such as instability in hard (or typical) reservoir conditions and high adsorption. These problems have an impact on predicted oil recovery, which lowers the projects' economic returns. |
