Annotation The presented research paper offers an opportunity to describe the ways of verbalising interoceptive (intra-body) sensations by a high degree of «somaticity«. This is manifested in the considerable attention paid to the human body. The increasing prominence of pain as a topic of interest within the humanities can be attributed to a number of factors. The most significant of these is the evolving perception of the nature and essence of pain. The object of study is a set of linguistic means used to verbalise interoceptive sensations, as well as the conceptual structures represented by these linguistic means. The subject is the systemic relationship between linguistic means and conceptual structures, as well as the dynamic processes that occur when verbalising the interoceptive experience.
Keywords verbalising sensations, intra-body sensations, sensory linguistics, sensation, cognitive activity, English language linguoculture, paremiological units, differently structured languages.
