Annotation

The relevance of the study is justified by an increase in the number of international students who study Russian and the significance of the development of communication skills in the methodology of teaching foreign languages. The study results provide a source to meet the main goals of the State Educational Standard for Russian as a Foreign Language. The article presents a model for the development of communication skills in the lessons of Russian as a Foreign Language (level B1 and B2) on the basis of theoretically proved advantages of the communicative approach in the practice of Russian as a Foreign Language (RFL). General scientific methods (including analysis of psychological, educational and methodological resources), methods of teaching foreign languages, empirical methods were implemented within the framework of the study.
