The amount of water which has arrived at the Moon with the galactic comets during the period from 5 to 1 million years ago is estimated. Fall of these comets quantitatively explain the origin of the present water ice on the Moon. With images of the lunar surface using high-resolution shows
evidence of large masses of frozen water in the rocks of the bottom and sides of young comet craters Tsiolkovsky and Aitken. The resulting conclusion: the process of allocation of water in the comet crater continues today. |
